Therapy is for everyone

What This Practice is About

Therapy is about human connection, and I believe therapy should be accessible for everyone. This small private practice is a result of my experiences, the support of my clients, and my goal to make therapy more affordable.

I have limited influence and means, but I have a passion and sense of obligation for doing good.

If you see the world through the same lens, and are in need of support… I’m glad we found each other!

I believe in a “halo-halo” (mix-mix) approach. Every individual is unique, so my strategy is to meet specific requests and needs.

I will use a lot of tools and modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, Narrative therapy, Gestalt, Humanistic, etc.) and incorporate them into our sessions, depending on what resonates with you.

I focus on a culturally competent method that centres intersectionality, and aims to decolonize and depathologize the therapeutic space.

Meet Your Therapist

My name is Luisa! I’ll be at the other side of your screen, so let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in Arequipa, Peru (look it up! It’s a beautiful city), and immigrated to Canada in 2014. After lots of traveling, working, and studying, I became the therapist you will soon meet.

I am a queer individual, an only child, and the biggest advocate of Peruvian cuisine. And, if you want to know more about me, just ask! I’m an open book!

My approach is simple: You’re the expert in yourself, I am the expert on what I do, and we collaborate.

I don’t pretend to know more about you than yourself, but I want to get to know the real you. My job is to listen and understand, and then offer you my expertise so we can co-create a space that feels truly yours.

My focus is on counselling psychotherapy. Please take a look at the Areas of Support section above for more information. If there’s something you want to work on but don’t see it listed above, please reach out!

As a registered College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) therapist, there are some limitations to my role, such as medication and diagnosis. But I’m very happy to provide guidance and point you in the right direction to get the care that you need.

How do I pay you? Do you take insurance?

2

I use Jane, so you can create a profile and securely store your banking information for payment to be automatically collected at the end of the session. If a card payment not possible, I’m happy to discuss other payment options with you.

And about insurance… Yes! Please check with your insurance provider to ensure you have coverage for psychotherapy. You’ll get a receipt after payment has been collected (usually at the end of our sessions) with all the necessary information for your insurance claim.

What are your credentials?

3

I’m a registered CRPO psychotherapist with independent status. My registration number is 15738. This means I have fulfilled the necessary educational and experiential requirements that allows me to be your therapist.

You can also access my LinkedIn, Instagram, and Psychology Today profile to see my educational and professional background, and any cool education upgrading I’ve been doing over the years.

These prices are not affordable for me, can we make arrangements?

4

While the set prices help me operate this little private practice, money is not what runs this business. If you think we would be a good match, please reach out! You can set up a consultation or reach out using my contact form, and we can hopefully find a way to accommodate your budget.
